Project Overview
In 2025 Recycled Roadways was appointed to provide material handling services for construction products supplier Holcim UK at Great Yarmouth port. The work involves handling materials discharged by ship from the Glensanda Quarry in Scotland.
The consignments are discharged via the ships conveyor belt to a temporary stockpile at the quayside. Using front end loading shovels, excavators and dump trucks (ADTs) we relocate the material to Holcim’s on-port facility. Stockpiles are managed using the loading shovels and excavators to stock material to the maximum height allowed to minimise the storage footprint.
Our site set-up is fully integrated with Holcim’s operation and includes up to three loading shovels, two excavators, two A30 ADTs and a 14-strong team of managed operatives working 24/7 to complete the work.
