  • Duration: ongoing

  • Location: Tilbury, Essex

  • Project Description

In 2025 Recycled Roadways was appointed to provide material handling and processing services for the UK Division of the Dutch-owned, conglomerate Bontrup. The work involves transport and crushing/screening of 0-250mm rock which is transported to the port at Tilbury by ship from the Bremanger Quarry in Norway.

The single-sized concrete and asphalt aggregates we produce is moved to a site stockpile by loading shovels whence it is loaded out to the client's customers.  Stockpiles are managed using excavators and loading shovels to load-up material to maximum height allowed by the site to minimise storage footprint.

Quality assurance is carried out with regular samples analysed in a laboratory to determine particle size, strength and durability.

Thereafter we load the finished products onto rail containers and/or road-going vehicles for distribution throughout the South of England. We handle and process approx. 300,000 tonnes of material each year.
