Recycled Roadways’ reputation as the leading asphalt re-processor in the South East built-up over the last 25-years providing this niche service, was a key influence in winning three contracts this year. In quick succession we have been appointed by Holcim, Heidelberg and Tarmac to generate recycled asphalt products (RAP) at locations in the South East and Anglia.

We are responsible for processing reclaimed road coverings into feedstock for the manufacture of new recycled asphalt products for surfacing highways, car parks and other civil engineering applications. Our 100 per cent recycling process produces a high-quality secondary aggregate product that can be added to virgin hot mixes to reduce the cost of producing new asphalt products and bolster the sustainability of the manufacturing process.

The waste asphalt material is typically planed out by contractors using surface mining machines or broken out of old road surfaces during infrastructure projects. The feedstock is transported to our customers facilities where we load it into our impact/cone crushers  which feed into multi deck screening plants to produce RAP at 6mm, 10mm, 14mm, 20mm, 28mm and bespoke sizes. Metal contaminants such as rebar and other metal debris are removed magnetically during the primary crushing process.

Recycled Roadways processed over one million tonnes of waste asphalt material into RAP in 2024.
