Project Overview
Recycled Roadways provide waste asphalt processing services at Heidelberg's high volume asphalt production plant in West London. Since 2015 we have established a permanent presence on the site with our team and plant/equipment fully integrated into Heidelberg's site facility.
Our site plant includes a 20 tonne hybrid excavator, three-way scalping screener and loading shovel. Two operatives carry out the works as part of the site team.
Although West Drayton is a large plant the site is constricted in width by the main railway line and canal. There is limited stocking space so is not suitable for traditional processing campaigns.
Road plainings, hot returned asphalt and other asphalt wastes are brought to site by Heidelberg and contractors working on their behalf. Each material stream is tipped into a dedicated bay ready to be processed. Our excavator and shovel mix oversize material from the screening process with hot retuned asphalt to break it down via heat transference.
This material is then mixed with imported plainings and screened to graded sizes when cool.
Our excavator loads the material into the hopper of our screening plant which produces two grades of product for new asphalt material (0-10mm and 10-20mm).
The resultant materials are laboratory-tested for compliance against specification for size and bitumen content.
We recycle over 70,000 tonnes of asphalt material for Heidelberg at West Drayton each year
